| Subject: The Pirate Faction Sat Jun 27, 2015 1:41 pm | |
| The concept of pirates has been based on Archeage. Pirates is an unofficial third faction. No player can join this faction at the start of the game. Essentially, this faction is a large group of criminals with their own rules and activities. A pirate life isn't easy, nor is it easy to become one. In AoT, there is a crime system. One can gain crime points through killing someone in your own faction or stealing. As you gain crime points, you gain infamy points. After a certain point, if the player dies, they go to trial; a trial consists of 5 other players whom can see the crimes you've done. A trial is similar to one in real life. If the juries deem the player guilty, they go to jail for a certain time. If they are innocent, their infamy points reduce. Either way, their crime points reset. However, infamy points do not reset. Upon reaching 3000 infamy points (by committing a lot of crimes, the player is exiled from their faction. NPC guards will attack them if they enter cities and their name tag will appear red to all players, no matter what their faction is (apart from other pirates); they can therefore be attacked. Because of this, a Pirate has their own island called Pirate Island. Once a Pirate, if the player dies in a Terani or Reveran faction zone, they'll automatically go to jail and be imprisoned for a certain amount of time. Pirates can kill players from either faction without any penalties (apart from being caught). The seas are their domain; PvP is allowed on the sea and if a Pirate dies, they do not go to jail. Like normal players, Pirates can form guilds, parties and raids like any other players can. The main source of income, for Pirates, is stealing. Pirates mainly target those who transport Trade packs (as trade packs is probably the biggest source of income there is); they'll attack and kill someone whose transporting a trade pack, and take it for themselves. Many choose to become Pirates when they reach endgame and want to have fun. In the past, the world of AoT has undergone raids initiated by Pirates to other continents, even sea-battles between guilds. The faction is PvP oriented, so it won't be for everyone. | |
